Progressive Crane, a Mazzella Company continues a tradition of family, teamwork and customer loyalty. We partner with our customers and suppliers to deliver on time and on budget.
The ability to address standard and special applications, including problem installations, has established Progressive Crane as a respected leader in the industry.
Progressive Crane opened its doors in 1968 as Progressive Electrical Systems, Inc. President and founder, Wayne Goforth, decided to start a service
organization focusing on crane repair and services. Equipment manufacturers, at the time, neglected this facet of the business, as it was cost prohibitive for
manufacturers to bring service personnel to the installed customer base.
Progressive Electrical Systems, Inc. began it’s coverage of Cleveland and continued to blanket the state of Ohio working on virtually every make, model and type of crane.
Tens of thousands of cranes are currently serviced within the Progressive network of offices and through the Local Service Tech organization.
Progressive started engineering and manufacturing cranes in 1972. Between 1972 and 1976—Progressive continued to grow and expand by adding additional products and
services, and also concentrated on the manufacturing processes and offering customers quality field services.
In 1976, Progressive Crane opened a manufacturing facility in Charlotte, North Carolina to ease freight costs and improve local service to the Southern states.
In 1989, Progressive Crane purchased Cleveland Beacon® Manufacturing, a crane manufacturer founded in 1946. This purchase allowed for a more diverse offering of
product lines and components. Many crane assemblers and end users are consumers of Beacon Line products.
In 1998, Progressive Crane opened a service and distribution office in Tonawanda, New York (near Buffalo.)
In 2005, Progressive Crane was acquired by the Mazzella Companies and has continued internal product and market development, making them a significant provider of a wide
range of overhead cranes and end trucks. The company has on-staff engineering and computer-aided design and SolidWorks capability to build customized indoor cranes and
runway systems to a lifting capacity of 100 tons.
